Maggie Moo Update

Last year I posted about one of my cows sneaking next door.  You can find the first part of this story here
Well, I thought I would give you an update of how our Maggie Moo is doing.  She has grown quite a bit and has started to grow little horns.  These I am expecting to get quite large because of her breeding(Longhorn).  She is still very out of place and you can spot her a mile away.

What do you think?  Remembering that we breed Droughtmasters and they are a red/yellow colour.

The Front Verandah

With the kids off mustering for the whole day I decided it was time to get stuck into some much needed cleaning.  First job, the front verandah - over run with gecko/frog poo, spider webs and dust it was in need of some high level attention. It scrubbed up pretty well and looks great now that I have added my new cushions from Chicken Ink.

Tania (insert talented, multi -tasking Mum) Goranitis not only made these cushions but is also the clever creater of my removable diary cover.  Now if I could only remember to use it.  Maybe I should use it for our pettiskirt / beanie orders - Angie would be impressed as I'm certain that she thinks my 'brain notebook' will fail me one day :)

So now the front verandah is a place to enjoy a coffee and muffin.

Or catch up on a mag or a book.

Or even enjoy the view.

It might distract me from what I really need to do ;)
(O.K Angie I'll write it down for you :) ) write down what's in the 'brain notebook'.

Off to get some more much needed jobs done before the kids return from their mustering adventure. Ohhh musn't forget to send a BIG BIG thankyou to Catherine from
I'd bumped something on my camera and as I NEVER read the manual for anything I had no idea what I did.  One quick call to Catherine and all those numbers and letters (which still don't mean anything to me !!) were fixed.  So thanks Catherine !! Much appreciated !!

AnK and Catherine Mims Photography

We have been so very lucky to appear on the blog of Catherine Mims Photography.  Catherine is a mum just like us and also teaches her children distance education at the same school as us.  The difference is that she is an amazing photographer specialising in babies, children and families.  Catherine has just started a 'What to Wear' on Wednesdays of her blog to help clients with the dilema of what to wear to a photo shoot.  We have featured in todays post with some of our products.
She has photographed the very gorgeous Madi wearing one of our beanies.  Madi has the most amazing eyes.  You can check out her blog here.

Isn't she gorgeous.  You are a wonderful model Madi!

Pretty Princesses in Pettiskirts

Kristy has posted about the pettiskirts previously so my girls and I had an afternoon of dress ups and photos with their pettiskirts to show them off a little more.  My girls love dressing up and would do it most days of the week so there was no asking twice.  You can purchase everything that the girls are wearing from our shop(except the long sleeve shirts but we can make a brooch to add to your favourite shirt).  The pettiskirts can be purchased through our facebook fan page and you can see them in our facebook albums.

Decorating with Windmills

I found a picture of a lovely house in the the August 09 Country Style magazine.  They had used a windmill in their lounge room on the wall.  I instantly fell in love with the look.  I have been pestering Mr B to give up an old windmill so I can put one up too.  He thinks that it won't work but he probably has his own interests to look out for.  He always has a go at anything I ask him but I don't think he is that keen on having a windmill hanging up in our house.  What do you all think?
While looking at Anna Spiro's beautiful blog(Absolutely Beautiful Things) I stumbled apon another windmill being used on a verandah wall.  This has only sparked another fire for me and I am now on a mission to get a windmill on my wall.  We will have to wait and see.

Photographer unknown but found this lovely photo on Absolutely Beautiful Things blog.

Easter at Home.

We had a lovely easter at home this year.  Our dearest and closest friends came to us for a visit.  We had such a great time.  We hunted wild pigs(something our husbands do for a hobby).  They are disease carrying pests here so it is best they are erradicated.  We also went to a water hole on our property that has a small amount of water left in it but heaps of little fish.  The kids all caught fish and crabs and then swam and explored.  We cooked sausages on a fire and had them with bread.
It is the simple things that makes the holidays so enjoyable.

The most horrible thing about the holidays is that I am going to be the meanest mum in the world.  Miss M and I are going back to school tomorrow.  I know it is still holidays but we will be taking some time off this term for our Ag Show Season so we need to be ahead in our school work.  Distance Ed doesn't wait for anyone and it is quite stressful to be behind.

Here are some photos of our easter break.  I hope everyone has had a lovely relaxing break.  I hope we can all find strength in ourselves to tolerate the sugar highs our kids are going to experience over they next little while!!!
