The Aftermath of our FB Garage Sale

On Friday night we held our first Garage Sale on Facebook.  We went into our garage sale with thoughts of organisation (in which Kristy and I are freaks of), we would write the buyers names on the products when they were sold.  Ha, were we mistaken.  All those thoughts went out the window along with all the organisation.  It was absolute madness.  I haven't laughed as hard as I did in ages.  Peoploe are so funny.
It was a race to get the first comment on the item, then they were the purchaser.  There were lots of people we knew at our sale but also lots of newcomers to our sale.
We have had comments like "I don't know how I got on your page last night, or know any of your products but I joined in and had such a ball.'  Alot of comments like 'It's so addicitve, it's cheaper than the pokies'.

Anyway Kristy has had a very busy 48hrs sorting out who bought what and doing invoices.  Poor Kristy, we live about 2 hours from each other so I couldn't be there to help.  But she has done a wonderful job of getting organised again.

We went for 3 hours and listeds items every couple of minutes.  We certainaly had FB in turmoil.  Fans were being blocked from us and then they were logging in as boyfriends, husbands, fathers or anyone else they new.  We are truly sorry if you are still blocked, most of our fans are back up and running.
These photos are all our products we had in our sale.

Dust and Dirt

I am alone at home for the week because everybody is out at our other property mustering.  Mustering has started very late this year because of all the lovely wet weather we have been having.  In August last year I packed up the family along with all our school work and headed out there for the muster.  I swore I would never do it again because it was too difficult doing school out there.  The fact that school is so digitally based and we haven't got internet out there.
It was in August so it wasn't hot but boy it was dusty.  I am sure that the cattle yards don't look like this at this muster.
Horrendous conditions!!

End of the muster and selling the unwanted.

It's not all work, we did get to go fishing at a waterhole near by.  We didn't catch anything but it was just great to relax and have a breather at the end of the muster.

What I have been up to..

Well I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I had better explain myself.  We have been for a week at the school, we have started mustering at our other property so that means I am home alone with the girls and all the jobs around the place and it is Miss M's 7th birthday on the weekend and she is having a party this year.
I know that you will totally understand.

Well previous to all this chaos I had done a bit of sewing.  This project has been in the pipe line for a while because it took some trial and error.  So finally here it is.
GROSGRAIN RIBBON BELTS.

I only have one photo at the moment because I had to do a speedy listing in our store for another blog.  I do have photos of the other belts but you will have to wait until I fix them up a bit.(I am not a natural photographer)

Drying Rack

When I am surfing around and checking out other peoples blogs if I see a picture I really like I save it in a Inspiration Folder on my computer.  I found this picture not long ago and thought I would share it with you.  I would love for my husband to make me something similar but I would be pretty hard pressed.

I just love the drying rack on the wall.  It's functional and looks good.  The reason I am talking about laundries is because mine is a total mess at the moment.  Not full of dirty clothes but I do all my crafting in there, so there is stuff everywhere.  I love White and Timber together.  It's like a Modern Country look.  I think I will print out this picture and hang it in my husbands shed just as a little reminder everyday.

Fun in the flood

After all this beautiful rain we have had this year I thought I would share some of the fun we have been having.
Miss S with Hunter.  She is about to throw a rock for him.

Miss M running up the road towards our cattle yards.

Kneeboarding up the road.

This photo was taken at Christmas time.  There is not usually water on here.  It is a big flat in front of our haouse that floods when we get heaps of rain.  Our house is quite high up a hill so there is no danger of water in our house.  Note how short the grass was compared to the photos above.  You can see the road from the previous photos in the background.

Julie & Julia or maybe Martha & Angie

On the weekend I was very fortunate to watch a movie, BY MYSELF.  I had bought the Movie 'Julie & Julia' one day when I was doing my monthly grocery shop.  This is the one with Meryl Streep in it.
Well it was a very inspiring movie, by both of the main actresses (Meryl Streep and Amy Adams).  Now I am no where being close to a movie critic but I thought that it was so very clever to join both of these true life stories and make one wonderful movie.
If you are feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment (which I have been lately with school) then this is the movie.  It shows us all that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and good things will happen if we just stick it out.
I would give it 9 out of 10 stars.  I hope you get the chance to see it. (what am I talking about, you probably have seen it and I am just behind the times).
