5 ways I survived the holidays!!

I can't beleive how long it has been since I have blogged.  Now that we have term 2 behind us (thank goodness, not sure if I would survive doing it all again) I will be back here again.  I only took 1 week for the holidays because I used the first on doing school.  Now I assured our teacher that it definately not our best unit of work.  We are taking holidays in August to catch up with brand new neices that arrived into the world recently and also to visit the EKKA (Brisbane Royal Show).  I know you all must be thinking that I am mad to be going near another show and aren't I sick of them - but I have a passion for shows so I am really looking forward to it.
Anyway back to school work my theory is that if Miss M was attending a main stream school then we would just not be there for the 2 weeks and she would miss that work, so I told the teacher that even though the work was not the best at least it was done.

So we only had a week of school holidays, and this is how I survived it.
1.  For the first few days the girls were that happy to be able to play together whenever they felt like it.
2.  I made them clean up the toy room.  They found toys they haven't played with for awhile, it was just like getting new toys.
3.  We got a poddy calf (a calf with no mother).  She is very affectionate and so that novelty lasted about a day.
4.  Mr B took them for a drive to check the waters a few times.  Thats a few hours they're not in the house.
5.  Some new DVD's.

We also had a heap fun outside in the garden, feeding all the animals and just not having the pressures of school hanging over our heads.  It was just like a little mini break except we didn't have to leave home.
We are back at school again but now we are looking forward to our holiday in August.  Happy holidays to eveyone who is still on them.

AnK has some exciting new products that I will blog about in the next little while, so stay tuned.

Phoebe Waldron & AnK Bowtique....what a team !!

We have just returned from an exhausting 3 days in Emerald.  AnK Bowtique teamed up with the fabulous Phoebe Waldron Photography to produce some breathtaking photos. Phoebe has popped away for a break and we thought you might like to see some of the 'behind the scenes' photos of our 3 days - which were a whirlwind of princesses, tulle and all things pretty.

The Zebra pettiskirts looked really funky, especially when Phoebe brought out the matching lollipops !!

There were princesses in AnK pettiskirts everywhere................
We created mountains of tulle, clothing and accessories everywhere we went !! Here Angie ponders how on earth we are going to fit ALL of that back in the suitcase :)
AnK would like to send a big THANKYOU to our wonderful patient photographer - Phoebe.  To check out some of the great shots she took head over to her facebook page - here
She is really a very talented lady and we can't wait to see the rest of the photos.

THANKS PHOEBE

Show Winning Photos

With our local show flying past, the kids finishing their Naplan tests (which means a week away from home at minischool for us) and another shipment of pettiskirts all ready to mail off I thought I'd better attend to our very neglected blog. Here are some of my photos which scored a prize at our local show. Thought you might like to take a look :)

Enjoy :)

It's Show Time

I apologise for the blog being a bit neglected but in our neck of the woods our Agricultural Shows are up and running.  Our home town show has just been held and our family is very involved.  This year we had both of the grils horses at the show so their was a lot of preparation for that.  My husband Woodchops, this is his first chop for two years.  In 2008 he had a fall off one of his horses while mustering and damaged his AC Joint (in his shoulder), and then in 2009 a young horse he was riding fell and rolled ontop of him and broke his leg quite badly.  His orthopedic surgeon actually told him that if he was a horse he would put him down!  So when it came time for the muster this year I practically wrapped him in cotton wool.  At the show I usually just run around like a chook with it's head cut off.  I tried to take some photos of our show but we have a funny saying in our family that goes 'If you want to see an Ag Show you have to go somewhere else to see it'. My husband and I are off on Thursday to another show to Judge their Miss Showgirl Competition so I am looking forward to that.  Hopefully I will get a few more pictures at the last few shows to show you what a country show looks like.
This is Miss S's very mischeivious pony.  He is only small but thinks he is a big horse, he has a lot of personality.

This is Miss M and her beautiful horse Honey waiting for their class.  She is the most sweetest and kindest horse.  Honey is 24 yrs old but looks much younger. (that is OLD for a horse)

This everyone who helps out at the cattle show/sale at our show.  This is the afternoon after the judging.  The sale is always held the next day.

This is the very beaustiful mare who won Champion Hack at the show.  She missed out on Supreme Hack of the show.  I would have picked her as Supreme but that is showing for you, you never know what the judges are going to like.

This is a friend of ours at the woodchop.  I didn't get any pictures of my husband woodchopping but I will at the next show, we are going without the kids so I will get to check out everything.
